Anyone know a good place to get my rims powdercoated? And how much it may cost?

gimme a couple days. one of my friend's friends does powdercoating. I was just talking to him the other day about it. I know his shop is not quite open to the public yet but he does coating and does excellent work. but supposedly he has work stacked up beyond belief so he may not want to do it. I'll ask nonetheless.

There is a place here in New Orleans area .... on Hickory in Harahan ... I don't recall the name of it and not sure if I can find out again. They do the powder coating for Al Copeland's race team and also have a backlog.

strange you mention that. the guy I'm talking about has 3 old school VW bugs being taken apart. he's gonna powder coat everything...body, chassis, suspension. the entire car, with the exception of the engine internals and similar things, will be properly protected for 30 years. I was thinking about doing that to what ever old dub I end up getting as a beater.

I was actually thinking about this last night and thought that powdercoating my rims that bronze type of color like on the STi rims might look badass

Yeah, I've always liked that color, but I've never seen it on a black car. If my car was white or blue, then I would definitely.

Like the bronze some of the WRX's have? I think they look nice on a black car...

Found someone that said he could do rims and have back to you the next day. He said $60 per rim, unless they had been powdercoated before or have chrome on them. Is $60 a good price?

damn that sounds great. if its a reputable person, and can sand down a couple small scratches i have on my rims with that price included, I may consider doing the bronze rims idea

I'm sure he will. I'm gonna call him back on monday and set it up. Maybe even get a little price cut with multiple people. The place was recommended by the guys at sonic boom (I was there just looking at a boost gauge) and they said they do really good work. It's called Kirkfields in Harahan. If anyone else is thinking about this post on here and I'll try and work a deal or something with a number of people interested.
