what are the specs on these Steve? Forged? Weight? Size?
fine then find me one you like (waits for some ugly ass blingy rim)
I found a vendor that will let you buy a set of the black rims I had... If you can afford $155 + shipping EACH, I can get them for you through Eric's company (they don't sell directly to the public). You can get them in flat black or Antracite....
they are ONLY 15 pounds each!!! (if that interests you)
Otherwise, I'd suggest you save LONGER and get REAL SSRs at 13 pounds each in 17"

Steve baby, you're money. I personally don't like the rim, no big deal. I don't like the whole 5 star thing.Bling is not my thing either. I like BBS. If I have to pick one of the 3 I would pick (c).

I actually like both A and B but I'd have to agree with mikey. I have always prefered BBS style rims or euro styled rims like borbet or brock. IMO, you should either save for better rims or invest your money in better places....like making your car faster

what size tires are you going to run? running 225/45's you will actually get better sidewall support with a 7.5" rim than a 7" rim which = better grip

Go with the Hyper!! Nice an shiney!
What about going WHITE for that black/white contrast???
Kosei K1 from TireRack for $179???
I had this before on my bugaboo and loved it!!!!
THEY DO have center caps available too BTW!!!!
what size tires are you going to run? running 225/45's you will actually get better sidewall support with a 7.5" rim than a 7" rim which = better grip
not really an issue actually...
Did you forget that stock Long Beach and Monte's and Arietta's are all 7" wide w/225 45 17s!
...unless you want to put on 235s, 17x7 is just fine!

Me too! I'd like to see steve get those instead!!! Lightweight, STRONG.. plenty of brake show off, etc.. ..and TireRack is sooo close in South Bend making shipping so cheap (cheaper than tax would be) for a package deal! (free mounting and balancing and free bolts with tirerack)...

I vote for those 5Ziegen ones in black on ebay...
BTW: you'll have 2 sets of wheels to choose from to steal the hub center rings needed for VW (Celica is 54.1mm wereas our VWs are 57.1mm) I know because I've bought wheels from a Celica owner before and had to pay $20 to get proper hub center rings ;)
...yes, I dream of wheels all the time... I just hate being too broke to buy what I want :( ....I'll have to worry about paying off hospital bills BEFORE I can even think about that set of Fikse's I'm dreaming of...

They are ON special right now for $166 EACH!!!
I've heard that they are almost as good as the Pilot Sport Cup (R compound) and have talked to several people who swear by them!!!
(Newer technology than the S03 Pole Position)
BUT if your on a budget, these are pretty darn good too (I have them on my Boxster S actually)
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ContiSportContact&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=245WR7SPCBMW&fromCompare1=yes
ONLY $113 each ON SPECIAL :D
BUT I attached a photo of the PS2 here... It even looks a lot like the Pilot Sport cup... If you can swing it, I'd highly recommend it over anything else... Although I haven't tried it yet, I have nothing but praise for the sport cup and people have told me repeatedly that if I like the sport cup, I'd love them!

damn i gotta disagree with you on this from experience. were the biggest michellin retailer at sears and sell plenty of these. i've put them on anything from the regular import to really nice bmws, lexus, and even porsche. i've talked to customers who have had them and they love everything about them. extremely low road noise, great performance in and out of the rain, and the only complaint was the price. as always, michellin is one of the most expensive tires out there but their quality is amazing. they wear perfectly even as long as you have your car aligned. and yes they will wear unevenly if you push them too hard as track tires but thats true on any tire. if you have the money for these, definately go for them. but if you're a budget, bridgestone, kuhmo, pirelli, and falken have really good soft compound tire alternatives
hmmm.... I edited and attached the photo too late..
Anyway, From Eric I hear nothing but people's complaints about the Pilot Sport Steve first linked to.. and have seen tons of them with uneven wear AND heard them after just 5k miles on an Infiniti..... ..and they were on the Porsche Eric picked up from LA last year.. he couldn't get rid of them fast enough.. the noise was killing him.. Heck I got a good $$ selling them slightly used because someone else though they were the ISH....
Michelin makes some fantastic tires but that PIlot Sport IS NOT one of them IMHO anyway...
BTW: I saw a set on a set of VW rims I had at one time and the wear was totally ramped and uneven after ONLY 7k miles... I had them on my NB for about a week until I just couldn't stand the noise any more....

I replaced my worn Bridgestone S0-3 Potenzas with these Michelins, so I will compare to them. The main difference I noticed is the sidewall. The Bridgestone has extremely stiff sidewalls which is good, but makes mounting and dismounting difficult. Also makes the ride a bit stiffer. The Michelin has less stiff sidewalls which makes it ride better than the Stones without giving up any handling. The Michelins seem to produce a tiny bit more noise than the Stones, but not much. The Michelins appear lightweight as are the Stones. Wet and dry grip is excellent. Cannot comment on wear mileage as I only have 2K miles on them. This is my first set of Michelins after owning Bridgestones, Dunlops, Pirellis, and Goodyears. I think these are outstanding tires and highly recommend them. -- Review Submitted 2004-10-19

After purchasing my 540i Sport & added a set of BBS RS-GT wheels - 8.5 x 18 F & 9.5 x 18 R - along with 235/40 ZR18 F & 275/35 ZR18 R Michelin PS2 rubber all around - by far the best decision Ive made. Great wheels & great tires - these PS2s really wonderful - quiet - track great - turnin is immediate & dead on - and high speed stability is unreal. Best tire & wheel package Ive ever enjoyed - highly reccomend both. -- Review Submitted 2004-10-12

see what i mean. like i said, they are not made to be track tires. if you use them as track tires, THEY WILL wear unevenly. for a daily driver with some hard driving once in a while, they are great.
Ibid: the tires that came with your cars were obviously used hard. once they start wearing unevenly or get to an old age, they will get loud just as any other tire

YES BUT I went through a set of S03s at the track on summer AND they still were complient in the street PAST the wear indicators!!! They looked like hell but they were still quiet and good in the street....
..actually both Eric and I wore out a set of S03s one summer with 3 autocrosses and 4 track days at Gingerman.... + 4k street miles... and they were still amazing with all the rubber scrubbed off!!!!

If I were planning on buying tires for both street and track use I'd go with the S03s. If I wanted a great street performer with a bit longer tread life and more road comfort, I'd go with the the PS2's

you have a black car so you get black rims, the natural finish is too bright and draws too much attention to the rim and not the brakes that is behind them, and the gunmetal is the same case.

Those rims are gay. I'm down with everykind of rim, Bling, BBS's and I do like the 5 spokes...but each spoke should be a little thicker, and it'd give it a more agressive look. Also, those rims look brutal on your friends protegé..what was he thinking? :p But yea, stick with that style just get something with more impact.
