jeez man, 18s on a MKIII is pretty big and require fender work.

go borbet, look at my garage ;)

i'd skip that deal myself. those wheels look GREAT on a mk4. and they also look really good a mk3 but in 17". you'd almost definately be rubbing, it would raise your ride height(4x4), and would be a little harsher overall. also those eagle f1s are in 225 which probably fit at all without pulling your fenders. if you have the time, try test fitting them but im 99% sure they won't fit without some work

thanks guys..I thought they would require some work being 18's..I don't really want to mess with the ridé or the height for that matter.

C, those wheels rate about a 7 in my book... Let's say I'd have to get a very hot deal on them to sport them. Just not my style. You wouldn't be left with much tire. Your kidneys might not like you.

Now that I've seen them on MK3s, I think they look better than on the MK4s - but, just too big.
Why dont you check out LJs new wheel post ;)

BBS or Borbets are a better all around choice.

Im not a big fan of those rims...

borbet or schmidts. staggered with a lip is sexxxxy on a mkIII

I got my tires & wheels today!!But looks like the fawkin tires are tooooo BIG.I know their gonna rub.I put one of the rears on and took some pics.LMK what you all think/recommend.I was going to sell the tires to a friend anyhow.I want the F1's.
These tires are 225/45/17's...I'm thinking I need a 205/40/17
That would be alot smaller tire correct?
Here's a few pics I took...It's within 1/8" to 3/8" of rubbing.

that looks great C! you're either gonna need 215/40/17 or 215/35/17. I've used both and am currently running 215/40/17. from what I see in the pic, those look just like they mine when I had the 215/45/17 before having to switch after only a month of having them. here's some pointers to think about:

-215/35/17 never rubbed at all but the ride was little harsh and you can easily bend your wheels since theres not much sidewall at all. I used the Pirelli Pzero neros with the 220 tread wear rating with the 215/35 rating and they rode as if they were on rails. Extremely sticky tires which means the downside is they wear a lot quicker(only lasted me about 14K) and of course there's no sidewall to protect your wheels like I said before.

-215/40/17 will not rub most of the times but is a much more comfortable size. It rides a lot smoother and you don't feel every single bump you hit. It's also a much more popular size over the 35 series so in case you ever need a replacement, they're more readily available. The only times they rub on my car is when I have 4-5 persons in my car and I hit hard bumps or when I'm just driving the piss out of it taking extremely hard turns or hit a really nasty bump.

definately rule out the 205 size since you're supercharged and it would feel as if you were driving on ice from a start with all the tourque you have. take a ride around with the 215/45 and see if they rub all the time. If they do, you'll definately want to go with the 215/35 size and just try to watch for potholes 24/7. 215/45 were actually my first set of tires on my last wheels and those would rub whenever i would turn or just hit the slightest of bumps which I was I downsized to 215/35. If this is your case, then i'd recommend the 215/40 which would barely ever rub but still give you the benefits of a bit taller of a sidewall.

As far as treadwear rating, I'd say look for something in the 280 range. This is basically the perfect combination of good traction and longer life. If you don't drive your car all the time and can afford tires about every 12-14k, look for some in the 220 treadwear range as these will be some of the stickiest street tires you can have. If traction isn't a big factor for you(which it very well should be), you can look in the above 330 treadwear range. Anyway, if you need anymore help, feel free to shoot me a message and i'll do the best to respond as fast as I can.

I'm not even going to try these.Don't won't to mess up the tires or my car :p..I'm going to go ahead and order the 215/40/17's from the rack...Will have them in 2 days.

Thanks again!!

Also,do you guys/gals think it's worth paying 68.00 for the road hazard on the F1's??I've read with that tread pattern, they pick up stuff(nails.ect.) quite easily.

NM..I'm going to get them from my local sams club..their only 10.00 more per tire, plus free shipping. For 36.00 additional I get free lifetime rotations plus road hazard.

Thanks!!

They(sams) won't be touching my tires..they send them up the street to be put on..Kind of a bitch..longer I'll have to wait for them..Oh well ;) Road hazard was 36.00
They had to order them though...5-7 days :(
