New tires came in today from the Tirerack. Kumho Ecsta V700 225-40-18 for auto-X and because they were on sale Kumho Ecsta MX 225-40-18 for the road. I'm hooked-up now. Going to blow my last threads on the old ones at the driving school.

That's what I think I will go with when the Pilot Sports go (and the way the car is running now, that will be soon :)).

honestly i really dont know why most people care if tires are z rated...doesnt z rated mean 160 plus mph...none of our cars can even touch that and if they could i doubt we would have the balls to try

SoloII the Kumho MX's are on sale right now at the Tire rack for $125 each in our size. Great price. These tires are being used instead of Azena's on some STS racer's cars. I like them a lot. So far I have 35 kmiles on them. I am replacing them soon. I will use them up at an Evolution school in Houstom right before the National tour event.

Actually if we regear ... the turbos can see that ... the max as geared from the factory at the factory redline is around 155 ... but with the rev limiter removed it is almost possible.
Then there is always a nice drive down a steep hill!

Im actually buying my new tires this week since the ones I have on my 17s now have too much profile and rub a lot. I was either looking at Pirelli Pzero neros, Kuhmo MX, Bridgestone Potenza RE930 which are on clearance for about the same price as the kuhmos, and the Dunlop sport FM 901s. I have been leaning more towards the Pirellis since they come in 215/35 and the rest are in 205/40 which means I would get 10 mm more of traction area. still debating on what i should get but i need to make my mind up in the next couple of days
