Soooo, i'm up for new tires come spring. Started lookin around. I really need to keep the price per tire to $100 or less. Lookin at a couple right now.

Fuzion ZRi (made by Bridgestone/Firestone) OUT OF THE RUNNING (thanks Charlie!
Thinking about the Yoko AVS ES100's too but they're $113
what does everyone think? Any other suggestions?

DONT GET THE FUZION. I have two after the storm and they are like sponges. Not predictable at all.....!

Im in the same market, looking at a few myself.
Sumitomo's? Any opinions? I think George rocks em on his passat.
Kumho Supra Ecsta 712? Opions?
Both of those are under $100/tire.

I am gonna go with the gForce myself. 1sikjetta has them and the look good. Maybe he can post some more about them?

I'm very happy with my Hankook Ventus Sport K104s... took a chance on them since they were so cheap. Great dry traction and surprisingly decent on wet roads. Could be a little stickier, but I enjoy sliding around the cones just a little ;)
Lot of complaints about sidewall strength on these, but I just don't get it. I've had no problems and I don't think it's possible to abuse a tire on the street more than I have between the cones. :D

nice, do you have 225/45's? I'm checking them out on Discount Tire Direct and they don't seem to have that size.

hmm, DTD has some other options.
Anyone heard anything about Nankang NS-1 Radial?

yep, that's what they are
what about the kuhmo 711?
pretty darn cheap for a summer tire and decent performance too IMHO

i really enjoyed the azenis st115's i had, but they lasted 30k. sorry i meant to say 30k not 20... 30k for me is less than a year :(
i dunno wtf im gonna do, actually im probably gonna end up worrying about it for a while, getting summer tires that last me 30k again and get wintertires again for next winter. *sigh*

yeah i just got them with these new wheels and i love them. they're pretty quiet if that matters at all to you but even better, they grip like a mofo. in the dry they hold on to the road just as well as my pirelli pzero neros did and in the rain they resist hydroplaning and are very predictable. they also have a 340 treadwear rating so they should last at least a couple years. i'd definately recommend them to anyone.

i had the st115s on my last set of wheels and really liked them for their rim protector edge and overall look. they were also very quiet on the road but unfortunately their traction sucked IMO. i probably wouldn't get them again considering the g-force sport offer about the same but with much better traction
anyone know what the difference between the 711's and the 712's are?
the 711s I had did not get as noisy or wear as unevenly as the 712s
Also, the 711s are HIgh performance summer whereas the 712s are ULTRA high performance summer

meh maybe ill get something else try it out. they were better than stock rsa's and i didnt really have the balls to make em slip at all. and i tried a few times. they just gripped & went.

i got the falken azenis st115 and am pretty impressed. they wear nice. my last tires were the toyo t1s and they stuck like glue but seemed to wear fast. i just had bad luck with them at the end of there life... dont get the khumo asx. its a basic tire. i actually have them on the rear right now and i drift... lol. www.edgeracing.com has some decent prices. the falkens for me were $100 per for 225/40/18. they stretch tight... my rim is 18x8.5

is edgeracing still in operation? I can't get to their website. It may be just from work though. I keep forgetting to try at home.
I had the ST115's and am looking at getting something else.
