Ok so I am going out to Auto Cross again next weekend (June 18th). I would really like to up grade my tires and or rims (not before next weekend, just at some point) Right now I have those RS Limited 17"s I bought from Shayne (BigGTI) back when he worked at Metro. I am not sure how much they weight, I think in the 20lb range. I am also running on Fulda Quantum Elite tires (224/45ZR17, not that I know what that means). They are ok tires for riding around on but I am not sure if they are the best for AutoX or not. Any input would be great. Oh and I am sure you guys have had this discussion a thousand times so sorry if this is an old topic.

I am looking at the Toyo Proxes RA-1. 255/40R17's. Anyone know the best place to buy these? I found some online for $170 but I saw a place where I guy said he got them for $125 each. That would not be a bad price. Anyone know.

For street class, azenias rt615 or hankooks STS tire.. Very nice, but won't last long on DD duty. The Toyo is a good tire too- but same deal, won't last too long for DD duty.

I get all my Toyo Ra-!'s from Frisby Performance Tire. Your size is listed at $179 each. They can shave them for you as well. I always shave mine to 4/32's tread depth.

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I will look into it some more at the beggining of next season. This year I am just trying to stay one step ahead of the track.

my vote would be for the AZENIS 615s for autocross.. I;ve ONLY heard great things bout them for autocross... RA-1 Toyo's are excellent for track (time to heat up) but not so sure about autocross use... the 615s are HORRID for track (get too greasy when they warm up) but they don't require warm up time (thus I vote for the 615s for autocross)
